You know how when the shit hits the fan, it usually seems as though there is not one single person in the entire world who could possibly imagine what it is you are going through? How you're ALWAYS alone, and why bother trying to explain it to someone who just won't get it?
I have google-able proof that you are wrong. (Although, I don't know WHAT I would google exactly. I just know I could.) That this terrible, horrible, no good, very bad way of thinking is a lie bigger than the Empire State Building is tall.
Sure, you could start a personal blog, and tell the world of your troubles, and you would end up with a support group of people you wouldn't have met otherwise, had it not been for the Internets. The problem with this can be that the Internets are full of trolls just waiting to gobble up anyone who goes trip trapping over any bridge they find trivial. You know the ones I speak of. The people who tell you to be lucky that you're MERELY experiencing Sucktastic Exhibit A, when there are people who are going through Horrific Exhibit 2, which CLEARLY makes your feelings invalid.
Instead, Aunt Becky recognized the need for a group blog that acts as an online support group. It's the kind of place that is NOT all sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows, but the people who hang out there are made of Grade A quality awesome.
It's regularly sprayed for ants, roaches, and repulsive trolls. A judgement free zone, where you can post a story, and wind up with more people in your corner than you ever thought possible. Even if someone disagrees with you. One place on the web that does NOT bring out the inner teenage drama queen in most people. Everyone there remembers that (for almost all of them) high school is over, and those weren't the best years of life for the general population.
No judgement. No lengthy comment sections full of anonymous postings about how "wrong" the original poster is.
Just love.
There are pages and pages of posts, and pages and pages with resources to help you get the physical help you need, while the rest of us offer a great deal of emotional support.
The band is getting back together. And you're more than welcome to join.
We need more cowbell.
