I have always been a sucker for signs. Admittedly, in my day, I have stolen a few road signs as well. (Never ones that if missing could cause harm. Usually only signs that sat for ever, showing men working, when CLEARLY no one was working there.) I think my fascination with signs started, the first time I drove to Richmond, Indiana and saw the 900 miles of Tom Raper RV billboards. At the park this afternoon, I found this awesome sign. It is only awesome because I knew what it was without the use of Babelfish. Hunde and verboten are very English sounding. There's also the helpful nature of the picture. This was a road near our hotel, when we first got here. I have seen many street signs, obviously, but this one was caught my eye for some reason. I would live on Winkel Street... This one literally translate to "Good drive, goodbye" which makes me smile, because driving in our village is NOT a good drive. Nor is driving out of it. The roads are much too narrow! I'm sure I'll be posting more signs as I come across them. These are just some of the "local" ones.
